The documentary film Those Who Are Never Lost (Yang Tak Pernah Hilang) began screening at the Epicentrum 2 Cinema in Jakarta today, Saturday June 22. The film was conceived as a form of memorialisation and to support the struggle to #MelawanLupa (Fight Forgetting) the dark history of human rights violations in 1997-98.

Jakarta – Dionysius Utomo Rahardjo, the father of pro-democracy activist Petrus Bima Anugrah who was abducted in 1998 for challenging Suharto’s New Order regime, is pessimistic that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will resolve the human rights violations that took place in 1997-1998 if he is re-elected in April.

There were four recommendations issued by the DPR on September 30, 2009 in relation to the case.

Endang Purwanti, Jakarta – An Ad Hoc Team from the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) is currently searching for 13 pro-democracy activists that disappeared between 1997 and 1998.
